ChemConnect’s Chalkboard trading platform is designed to run on a variety of user-owned PCs and laptops, but has some minimum requirements that your desktop should meet. Performance will vary widely, depending on your PC configuration and other applications which may be running at the same time. Following are the desktop, browser, and connectivity requirements and recommendations from Chalkboard:

The application, by default, runs TIBCO on TCP port 80 and SSL (secure socket layer) on TCP port 443 (both ports are needed to be opened outbound only). Since port 80 is used for http traffic by default on all firewalls/proxy servers, some application level firewalls only allow http traffic to flow through it on port 80, blocking everything else. Since we are running TIBCO on port 80, with such firewalls, the connection fails. We ask our customers to change the http object property on the firewalls to TCP 80 or enable TCP on port 1594 as an alternative.
If you are using any HTTP web filtering or Cache engines then *.chemconnect.com needs to be excluded.
ChemConnect’s Chalkboard is available for your trading use Monday through
Friday 24 hours a day.
To enter ChemConnect’s Chalkboard trading platform, you must obtain a User ID assigned by your company administrator and a temporary password assigned by Chalkboard. It is recommended that you change your password the first time you log on the system.
Chalkboard will activate each ID and password once your company has signed
a contract to use the trading platform.
Log onto ChemConnect’s Chalkboard Trading Platform
As a user of the Chalkboard trading platform, you can actually login to
the system two different ways:

Enter username and password
Select “Commodity Markets/Chalkboard” from the platform drop down menu
Click “Login” button
